The story
The guitar is one of the oldest and most versatile musical instruments, with roots that go back thousands of years. The first forms of guitar appeared in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, in the form of stringed instruments such as oud and lyre. During the Middle Ages, the guitar evolved in Europe, taking different forms, such as the Spanish vihuela and the Renaissance lute.
The modern guitar, with its six strings, emerged in the 18th century in Spain, with Antonio de Torres considered the father of the classical guitar. In the 20th century, the guitar underwent a further transformation with the introduction of electric guitars, developed by innovators like Leo Fender and Les Paul. These instruments revolutionized music, giving birth to genres such as rock, blues and jazz, and turning the guitar into one of the most recognizable symbols of contemporary musical culture.
